DATALINX COMPLETES IP VPN SERVICE DELIVERY CONSULTING FOR A NORTH AMERICAN COMMUNICATIONS PROVIDER
Tarrytown, NY – July 11, 2006 – DataLinx Corporation, an innovator in providing Consulting, Operation Support Systems, Software Development and Integration Services to communications providers, was recently engaged by a North American carrier to analyze their end-to-end service delivery capabilities, processes, systems, and cost models necessary to deliver IP VPN services. During the course of the engagement DataLinx analyzed the current systems and processes in use by the carrier in order to determine the best course of action necessary to enable the delivery of IP services and billing of those services.
The consulting project included an in-depth comparison of the Service Provider’s OSS/BSS systems versus industry best practices to determine the gaps and high level business case for addressing the top issues. The final deliverable included a set of short-term and long-term (12-24 months) recommendations of how to streamline, update and maximize their operations. Included in the recommendations were budgetary estimates essential to facilitate planning and to support the business case for upgrading systems necessary to deliver future IP services. The short-term recommendations have been fully implemented, with the longer term items in progress to completion.
Due to their ease of management, IP VPN services are projected to continue to erode the frame relay services market. By 2009 IP VPN services are projected to be a $5.8 billion market in the U.S. alone, according to Vertical Systems Group. Infonetics reports that the global business market for VPN services will be $29.9 billion by 2009.
