Today’s Stock Market: Meta Takes a Tumble, Nvidia Continues to Slip, Indexes Recover from Early Losses



Major stock market indexes saw a sharp drop at the open today, but quickly recovered and maintained only small losses. Meta Platforms (META) saw a significant decline, while Nvidia (NVDA) managed to recover some of its losses.

After hours, Oracle (ORCL) saw a significant increase in its stock price after reporting better-than-expected earnings. The Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a slight increase, with UnitedHealth (UNH) and Nike (NKE) performing well. Volume decreased on both exchanges compared to the previous Friday.

Arch Capital Group (ACGL), a member of the property and casualty insurance industry, showed strong performance. The Nasdaq composite briefly dropped below 16,000 before bouncing back. Costco Wholesale (COST) continued to decline after disappointing sales numbers.

Investors are now awaiting the latest inflation data, with economists predicting a rise in the Consumer Price Index. Several tech stocks, including Marvell Technology (MRVL), saw notable movements. Outside of the stock market, bitcoin continued to surge, reaching new highs.
