General Conference’s Saturday Afternoon Session in April 2024: A Recap

Afternoon Session, April 2024, General Conference, Saturday, Summary

Temple Square has always been a sight to behold during the springtime, especially as gardeners work tirelessly to prepare the ground for General Conference. The event took place in April 2024 and was attended by key leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including President Russell M. Nelson and his counselors.

During the session, various speakers shared insights on the importance of inner spiritual stillness, moral agency, and the blessings of the Savior’s Atonement. Elder Bednar emphasized the need to focus on God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, while Elder Cook stressed the importance of choosing Christ and obeying His commandments.

Elder Gong also touched on the idea that through trust in God and His love, even our greatest heartbreaks can work for our good in the end. He highlighted the redemptive power of Jesus Christ’s Atonement and how it can make all things right in time and eternity.

Furthermore, Elder De Feo shared three principles for maintaining a clear spiritual vision, emphasizing the need to focus on Jesus Christ, leave behind the natural man, and listen to the voice of the Lord. Young Men General Presidency member, Brother Michael T. Nelson, encouraged leaders and parents to be exemplary disciples of Christ and empower youth to take an active role in their spiritual growth.

The event also featured soul-stirring musical performances by a combined choir from Brigham Young University–Idaho, adding a touch of reverence to the proceedings. With prayers offered and blessings bestowed, the session was a testament to the strength, faith, and unity of the Church members across the globe.
