The Faculty Distinguished Research Award recognizes the significant research and scholarly accomplishments of faculty members at the university. Each year, up to four awards are presented to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to their fields. Recipients are expected to have established exceptional national and international reputations for their scholarly or creative endeavors.
The award includes a plaque and a $10,000 monetary prize to further support the recipient’s research. Eligibility for the award extends to all active, full-time faculty members, regardless of their field of expertise. Selection criteria focus on the impact of the individual’s work, whether it be a long-term dedication or a groundbreaking discovery.
Nominations are submitted by deans of schools/colleges, and each school/college may nominate up to two candidates per year. Emphasis is placed on promoting diversity and inclusion in the selection process. The selection committee, comprising previous award recipients, evaluates the submissions and chooses the winners.
The Faculty Distinguished Research Award is a prestigious honor that highlights the exceptional contributions of faculty members to the scholarly and creative landscape of the university community.
