Representative Confirms Beyoncé’s Absence from 2024 DNC

2024, Attend, Beyoncé, DNC, Rep.

Beyoncé’s representative has confirmed that the singer will not be attending the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Despite online rumors suggesting she would be there to perform, it turns out that there was never any plan for her to be present. This news comes after Pink was initially reported as the headline act ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris’ speech, leading to speculation about a surprise guest later in the evening.

Although Beyoncé did not physically attend the convention, her presence was still felt as her song “Freedom” played both on and off the stage during Harris’ speech. The singer had given Harris permission to use the track for her presidential campaign, turning it into a campaign anthem. The event was hosted by various celebrities, including Tony Goldwyn, Ana Navarro, Mindy Kaling, and Kerry Washington, with performances by Stevie Wonder, John Legend, and Patti LaBelle.

Stevie Wonder highlighted the importance of voting during his performance, emphasizing the need for courage over complacency. The convention also featured a tribute to Prince, with Legend and Sheila E. performing “Let’s Go Crazy” in honor of vice presidential nominee Tim Walz’s home state of Minnesota. The Republican National Convention in July also saw its fair share of celebrities in attendance, including Hulk Hogan, Kid Rock, and Amber Rose.
