Ja’Marr Chase plays in season opener while Tee Higgins is sidelined

Active, Ja'Marr Chase, Opener, out, Tee Higgins

The Bengals’ star wide receiver, Ja’Marr Chase, was active for the team’s opening game against the Patriots after going through his pre-game routine with coach Troy Walters. His teammate, Tee Higgins, was inactive due to a hamstring injury, giving rookie Jermaine Burton a chance to make his NFL debut.

Chase had been dealing with an illness throughout the week but managed to fight through it and suit up for the game. It was uncertain how many snaps he would get, but he was determined to play close to his usual allotment of 60 snaps, despite Higgins being out of the lineup.

The Bengals also had a few other players listed as inactive for the game, including Kendric Pryor and several rookies. The team now faces the challenge of determining how much playing time Chase will see on the field, given the circumstances surrounding his health and his teammate’s absence.
