Bears finish preseason with victory against Chiefs

Bears, Chiefs, preseason, win

The game started off on a high note for the Bears with quarterback Tyson Bagent scoring a 5-yard touchdown on the opening drive, fueled by a 44-yard pass to Nsimba Webster. The defense complemented the offense by stopping the Chiefs and forcing a turnover on downs. Despite a missed field goal attempt by the Chiefs, the Bears managed to increase their lead with a field goal by Cairo Santos early in the second quarter.

The defining moment of the first half came when DeAndre Carter’s punt return mishap led to a turnover deep in Bears territory, only for Reddy Steward to intercept an Oladokun pass, denying the Chiefs a scoring opportunity.

Although the Chiefs managed to score a touchdown, the Bears quickly responded with 10 points in the final minute of the second quarter. Brett Rypien’s connection with Tyler Scott set up another Santos field goal, showcasing the Bears’ ability to capitalize on offensive opportunities and extend their lead before halftime.

Overall, the first half was a display of the Bears’ offensive prowess and defensive resilience, setting a strong foundation for the remainder of the game. The team’s quick scoring ability and defensive stops proved to be key factors in their success.
