The incident took place during the Sunland-Tujunga Independence Day Parade, where Trejo was a participant. The theme of the parade was “The Magic of Sunland-Tujunga.”
Reports suggest that after a water balloon was thrown at one of the vehicles in the parade, Trejo stepped out of his vehicle to address the individual responsible. Another water balloon was allegedly thrown at Trejo, leading to a scuffle where punches were exchanged, and Trejo was knocked to the ground.
While witnesses claim that Trejo was initially trying to confront the perpetrator rather than engage in physical violence, the situation escalated once he was hit. Video footage of the incident shows Trejo being restrained by parade-goers, but no arrests were made by the police.
Known for his roles in various films, including the “Spy Kids” series and “Machete,” Trejo has also made a name for himself as a successful restaurateur. Despite his troubled past, Trejo has turned his life around and achieved success in the entertainment industry.
