Jon Wysocki, the talented drummer and co-founder of the rock band Staind, has passed away at the age of 53. His death was confirmed by the band’s official social media account. He died on May 18, surrounded by loved ones, as shared on Lydia’s Castle’s Instagram account. Wysocki, who joined Lydia’s Castle in 2021, was admitted to the ICU due to liver issues, according to a Facebook post by band member Shawna Hornbeck.

Born in Westfield, Mass., Wysocki helped form Staind in 1995 and released their debut album “Tormented” in 1997. The band’s major label debut, “Dysfunction,” followed in 1999. Despite leaving Staind in 2011 amid reported tensions with Aaron Lewis, Wysocki briefly joined Soil but did not record with them. Lewis and Soil both paid heartfelt tributes to Wysocki, acknowledging his talent as a musician and his kindness as a person.

The passing of Wysocki is a loss felt deeply by the music community, with his former bandmates and colleagues remembering him fondly. His contributions to the rock genre will be remembered, and his legacy will live on through his music.
