In addition to the potential change in the cover screen, leaked marketing materials suggest that Samsung is upgrading the Interpreter mode on both the Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. Interpreter mode is a useful feature that assists users in multilingual conversations. You speak into the microphone, and the tool quickly translates your words, displaying the text in another language at the bottom of the screen.
The Interpreter update will utilize the outer screen of the foldable devices, allowing translations to be shown to the other person without the need to flip the phone around. Marketing images suggest that this feature will only work in Flex Mode, where the device is opened halfway. This is similar to the Pixel Fold’s ability, although the Pixel Fold requires the device to be fully open.
