Get ready for summer with the arrival of Sonos’ Roam 2 portable speaker

Sonos is preparing to launch the successor to the 2021 Roam speaker in time for summer outdoor adventures. In a recent newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman revealed that Sonos plans to release the Roam 2 speaker in June. The first-generation Roam was Sonos’ second attempt at a portable speaker, featuring a slim, triangular design that weighs less than a pound but delivers impressive sound quality.

Gurman also mentioned that the Roam 2 will include a touch-sensitive control panel similar to other Sonos speakers, such as the Era 100. Additionally, Sonos is developing a new app to accompany its devices, starting with the Roam 2 and a pair of premium headphones designed to compete with the AirPods Max. The headphones are expected to cost $450 and are slated for release in June, slightly delayed from the original timeline.
