Standing at an impressive height of 6-foot-2 and weighing 214 pounds, Nix has already made a significant impact in his football career. He set a remarkable NCAA single-season record for completion percentage in 2023 and shattered Oregon’s single-season passing yardage and passing touchdown records along the way.
During his time at Auburn, Nix was recognized for his talent by earning SEC Freshman of the Year honors in 2019. He also showcased his skill and precision by throwing an impressive 256 consecutive passes in 2021 without throwing a single interception.
In the 2024 NFL Draft, Nix became the Broncos’ first-ever first-round pick at the quarterback position since 2016. He is now the fifth quarterback the Broncos have selected in the first round, with only Jay Cutler being picked higher at No. 11 in 2006. With six quarterbacks selected in the top 12 of the draft, it was evident that there was a high demand for talented players in this position.
Nix now joins the likes of Jarrett Stidham, Zach Wilson, and Ben DiNucci in the Broncos’ quarterback room, adding depth and talent to the team. Head Coach Sean Payton had expressed the need for a quarterback ahead of the draft, and the team delivered by selecting Nix on draft night.
With his exceptional track record and potential, Nix is expected to bring a new level of skill and performance to the Broncos as they continue to strive for success in the NFL.
