This week, Cassandra Valdez from Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) received the honor of NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week, while Miranda Carnell from Bethel (Tenn.) was named NAIA Softball Player of the Week. These outstanding athletes were recognized for their exceptional performances from April 1-7, standing out among the conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.

Valdez showcased her pitching prowess with 16 complete innings in three games, averaging an impressive 12.69 strikeouts per seven innings. She maintained a stellar 0.56 WHIP, allowing only seven hits and two walks throughout the week. Additionally, she secured a save in a critical 3-1 victory on the road.

On the other hand, Carnell excelled on the offensive end, delivering a remarkable week at the plate for Bethel (Tenn.). She accumulated 14 hits, including five doubles and three home runs, while driving in an impressive 19 runs. With a batting average of .583, an OBP of .593, and a slugging percentage of 1.167, Carnell proved to be an offensive force to be reckoned with.
