Sounders host Pride Month celebrations every June

Celebrating diversity and inclusion, Sounders FC proudly supports the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month this June. With a dedicated effort to invest in and uplift LGBTQ+ individuals, the club is excited to host various events and initiatives throughout the month.

The Gender Diverse Youth Clinic, in collaboration with partners like Starbucks, Seattle Reign FC, and TransFamilies, is a highlight of the month’s celebrations. Youth from TransFamilies and their siblings will have the opportunity to engage in soccer activities with Sounders and Reign players at the Providence Swedish Performance Center. This event not only promotes inclusivity but also provides attendees with Pride-themed merchandise and soccer gear, courtesy of Starbucks and RAVE Foundation.

A significant moment in the month’s festivities is the raising of the Progress Pride Flag at Lumen Field. Featuring colors that represent BIPOC and transgender communities, the flag symbolizes unity and acceptance. Sounders and Reign players, along with various community representatives, will come together to raise the flag before the club’s Pride match. This act signifies the clubs’ commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all individuals, both on and off the field.
