There are several easy shortcuts on Macs that make screen recording incredibly simple. These options allow you to record audio using the built-in microphone or an external microphone. Keep in mind that the audio quality may not be the best.
To access the screen recording toolbar, simply use the Shift + Command + 5 command. From there, you can choose to record the entire screen or just a specific portion. The toolbar also allows you to select the microphone you want to use for recording.
If you prefer to use the discontinued Quicktime Player app for recording, you can access more options for recording audio at different quality levels. Simply select File, then New Audio Recording, to access these options. Unfortunately, if you choose New Video Recording, you won’t have control over the audio quality.
