Tom Selleck is feeling a sense of frustration after finding out that CBS decided to cancel the long-standing show “Blue Bloods.” The show has been on the air for 14 years, with Selleck portraying the character of Commissioner Frank Reagan since its debut in 2010. Despite the show’s consistent viewership and success, CBS made the decision to end it this fall.
In a recent interview, Selleck expressed his disappointment at the network’s choice, mentioning that the show was always taken for granted because of its performance from the beginning. He acknowledged the loyal viewers of “Blue Bloods” and emphasized the strong bond among the cast members, likening it to the closeness of the Reagan family portrayed on screen.
Even though the series is coming to an end, CBS Studios president David Stapf hinted at the possibility of a spinoff. Selleck, however, remains hopeful that there might be another acting opportunity in his future, potentially a Western. Despite the uncertain future of “Blue Bloods,” Selleck made it clear that he has no plans to retire from Hollywood.
The final episodes of “Blue Bloods” are set to air on CBS starting October 18, 2024, with Selleck and the rest of the cast bidding farewell to a beloved show that has captured the hearts of many viewers over the years.
