Baylor’s women’s basketball team had a tough 74-70 loss to USC in the Sweet 16 of the 2024 NCAA Tournament. Coach Nicki Collen was proud of her team’s effort and resilience despite the odds stacked against them. The Bears fought hard, showing moments of brilliance on both ends of the court.

Although the season ended sooner than they hoped, players like Sarah Andrews and Jada Walker showcased their skills and determination. Andrews led the team with 17 points, hitting a season-high five 3-pointers, while Walker reached the milestone of 1,000 career points.

There were standout performances from Dre’Una Edwards and Darianna Littlepage-Buggs, who each recorded double-doubles in points and rebounds. The team’s strong rebounding effort and 3-point shooting display were positive aspects of the game.

Looking ahead, Baylor has a bright future with key players returning and a promising roster for next season. The team is already focused on improving and making another deep run in the tournament in the upcoming years. Despite the disappointment of the loss, the Bears remain optimistic and determined to come back stronger in the next season.
