Making their first NCAA Elite Eight appearance in 30 years, the USC women’s basketball team faced a formidable UConn team and unfortunately saw their memorable season come to an end with an 80-73 loss in the NCAA Regional Final. Despite starting strong, USC was unable to maintain their lead as UConn went on an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter, ultimately sealing the victory.
USC showcased their talent and determination throughout the game, with players like JuJu Watkins, McKenzie Forbes, and Rayah Marshall making significant contributions. Watkins impressed with a game-high 29 points, breaking the national record for single-season scoring by a freshman. Forbes also stood out with 24 points and five 3-pointers, showcasing her skill beyond the arc.
Although the loss was disappointing, there were many notable achievements for the USC team throughout the season.
