Disney fully acquired Hulu last November and started beta testing integration with Disney+ a month later. Now, Hulu on Disney+ is officially launching, allowing subscribers to access content from both services. This move is aimed at increasing the value of the Hulu bundle, starting at $9.99 a month with ads. There is also a Duo Premium bundle for $19.99 a month, offering ad-free streaming and offline downloads. Existing bundle subscribers can easily access Hulu shows through a new tab on Disney+.
Hulu content like “Shogun” and “The Handmaid’s Tale” will be highlighted in the main carousel of shows and content recommendations. Users who subscribe separately to Disney+ and Hulu can also access Hulu content easily by using the same email address for both services.
While the launch of Hulu on Disney+ marks a significant evolution for the platform, some users may face inconvenience as existing viewing progress on Hulu may not carry over to Disney+. Despite this, Disney aims to provide an enhanced user experience and is planning further innovations for the future.
