Generative AI is identified in the report as a “positive disruptor” that can enhance efficiency and assist workers in managing their workloads. However, the UK’s adoption of generative AI still lags behind the global average. Only 47% of UK workers reported using AI at work in the past year, compared to 61% globally. Furthermore, a smaller percentage of UK workers use AI daily or weekly compared to their global counterparts.

PwC’s Workforce Transformation Partner, Alastair Woods, emphasizes the importance of engaging employees in the transformation process and identifying the new skills required in different parts of the workforce. Employers need to guide their employees through the changes and provide them with opportunities for upskilling. Building trust between leaders and employees is crucial for successful AI integration.
